Warming ginger, minced beef and white cabbage dish

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • 250 g minced beef
  • 2 small onions
  • 1 tsp, heaped cinnamon powder
  • 30 g fresh ginger
  • 1 pinch of black pepper from the mill
  • some salt
  • ½ lemon(s)
  • 1 tsp, crushed paprika powder, rose hot
  • 300 g white cabbage

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Finely chop the onions. Chop or mince the ginger as finely as possible. Squeeze the juice from half a lemon (alternatively, you can use lemon zest or lemon oil, but I find lemon juice works better). Cut the white cabbage into fine, not-too-long strips. Heat the olive oil in a pan. Only when the olive oil is hot do you fry the ground beef, stirring until the meat juices are almost gone. Then add the onions and fry until translucent. Add the cinnamon, pepper, ginger, salt, lemon juice, and paprika and mix well. Then add the white cabbage and simmer with the lid on and reduce the heat to low for about 10 minutes (stirring occasionally). Do not add any water! Finally, season to taste with cinnamon, pepper, paprika, and salt. This goes well with rice, but potatoes or polenta can also be served with it.
