Brussels sprouts – minced meat – vegetables

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 500 g Brussels sprouts, in Austria we call them Sprossenkohl
  • 200 g minced meat, I use beef
  • 1 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 1 clove(s) garlic
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 pinch(s) cumin
  • Salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

quick to make, super tasty

Clean the Brussels sprouts (I call them sprouting cabbage). Finely dice the onion and sauté in 1 tablespoon of olive oil. When the onion starts to brown, I add the garlic (finely leafed or garlic press) and sauté for another 1 minute. Set the onion and garlic mixture aside. I then briefly sauté the Brussels sprouts in 1 tablespoon of olive oil. The brown bits from the searing give the sprouts a special flavor! Then I add the minced meat and sauté for another 3-4 minutes. A little cumin, salt… Now I add the onion and garlic mixture again. Then I deglaze with 1 glass of water. Simmer for about 15 minutes over medium heat. I absolutely love eating this in the winter!
