Broad beans from the large pan

Ingredients for 8 servings:

  • 3 cans of beans (fine young green beans, drained weight approx. 1.4 kg)
  • 1 can kidney beans (drained weight approx. 250 g)
  • 250 g diced ham (Katenschinken)
  • 2 onions
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1 tsp basil
  • 1 tsp pepper, mixed seeds
  • 1 tsp sautéed oregano
  • 1 tsp, sautéed marjoram
  • 1 tsp, sautéed rosemary
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Vegetable side dish for grilled food

Open the cans and empty the contents into a large sieve, set aside, and let drain. Heat the olive oil in a large pan or wok and lightly fry the ham. Add the finely chopped garlic and chopped onion and fry over moderate heat until translucent. Now stir in all the spices and herbs and toast for 1 to 2 minutes. Stir in the beans, toss for about 2 minutes until hot, then remove from the heat, cover, and let stand for 10 minutes. Then stir again and season to taste.
