Mediterranean meatloaf in a Roman pot

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 800 g minced meat, mixed
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 bell pepper(s)
  • 2 onions, red
  • 150 g feta cheese
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 roll, old
  • 1 chili pepper(s)
  • 2 tbsp spice mix (gyros)
  • e.g. sea salt and pepper
  • n. B. herbs, e.g. oregano, thyme, rosemary
  • 50 ml whipped cream or Cremefine

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 55 minutes

Mix the minced meat with the soaked bread roll, eggs, spices, and finely chopped onions, bell peppers, garlic, chilies, and tomato paste. Mix the feta with the cream and herbs until creamy. Then fill the minced meat with the feta mixture and shape into a meatloaf dish. Place the minced meat in the Roman pot, add 2 sprigs of rosemary and 2 cloves of garlic, lightly crushed by hand, and bake in an unheated oven at approximately 180°C for 90 minutes.
