Gratinated pear slices with cayenne pepper

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 4 pears, ripe but not too soft
  • 200 g blue cheese
  • 2 cl liqueur, pear liqueur or pear schnapps
  • 1 lemon(s), the juice
  • Parsley for decoration
  • 4 slices of toast
  • Cayenne pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

a wonderful little dinner

Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Peel the pears, halve them, and cut each half into 3 wedges. Remove the cores. Place the slices of 2 pears each on two ovenproof dinner plates. Mix pear liqueur or pear schnapps with the lemon juice and drizzle over the pear slices. Slice the blue cheese and place it on top of the pear slices. Bake for about 5 minutes, until the cheese begins to melt. Sprinkle with cayenne pepper and garnish with the parsley leaves to serve. Serve with toasted bread.
