Onion, cheese and ham bread

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 g flour
  • 20 g fresh yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.35 liters of mineral water
  • 100 g cheese, spicy, grated
  • 100 g diced ham
  • 50 g fried onions

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 50 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes

Preheat the oven to 100°C (top/bottom heat). Put the flour in a bowl. Crumble the fresh yeast into a cup and add the salt. Stir until the yeast has become liquid (the yeast reacts to the salt; adding more water is not necessary). Add the yeast to the flour along with room-temperature mineral water, grated cheese, diced ham, and fried onions. Knead all ingredients until a yeast dough begins to pull away from the sides of the bowl, adding a little more flour or mineral water as needed. Cover the bowl with a cloth and let the dough rise in the warm oven for about 10 minutes. Then remove the bowl and preheat the oven to 200°C (top/bottom heat). Shape the dough into a round loaf on a floured surface and place it on a prepared baking sheet. Place the bread in the hot oven (middle rack) and bake for 50 minutes. Then do the tap test and let the bread cool on a wire rack. Tip: You can also bake the bread in a loaf pan. The bread has 2433 kcal.
