Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Side dish for game or barbecue

Remove the stems from the mushrooms and place them open-end up on a baking sheet (lined with aluminum foil or parchment paper to release plenty of juice). Finely chop the stems and sauté them in butter with the chopped onion and sliced apple. Season with salt, pepper, and rosemary, then glaze with honey. Stuff the mushrooms with the mixture and sprinkle with cheese. Bake in the oven at 180°C for about 15 minutes. Alternatively, you can of course wrap the stuffed mushrooms in aluminum foil and grill them. The combination of apple and mushroom is unusual, but also exceptionally delicious. If necessary, you can simply stuff the mushroom caps with the finely chopped raw stems, apple, and onion without frying them.
