Potato cake Rösti style from the air fryer

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1 kg potatoes
  • 1 large onion(s)
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • salt and pepper
  • nutmeg
  • Rapeseed oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

As a main course for 2 portions, as a side dish for 4 portions

Peel and coarsely grate the potatoes. Place the grated potatoes in a clean kitchen towel and squeeze out as much liquid as possible. Peel and finely chop or grate the onion. Place the squeezed potatoes, onion, eggs, and flour in a large bowl and mix well. Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg to taste. Lightly grease a silicone mold (diameter approx. 24 cm, volume approx. 4.5 liters) with oil. Pour the potato mixture evenly into the silicone mold, smooth it out, and brush the surface with a little rapeseed oil. Place the silicone mold in the air fryer and bake at 200 degrees Celsius for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, turn the potato cake over and bake for another 10 minutes. Remove the potato cake/rösti from the silicone mold and serve. You can serve the potato cake as a main course for two people or as a crispy side dish instead of potato dumplings.
