Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 3 medium-sized onions, approx. 250 g
  • Margarine or butter and corn oil
  • Salt and pepper, white
  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar, dark
  • 200 ml meat broth
  • 1 ½ tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp double cream cheese
  • some sugar, brown
  • n. B. Broth powder

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Peel the onions and slice into thin half rings. Heat margarine or butter and corn oil in a pan. Add the onion rings and fry until golden brown. Season with salt and pepper. Stir in the balsamic vinegar and continue frying briefly. Pour in the meat broth and soy sauce. Let everything simmer for 5 minutes. Mix the tomato paste and cream cheese with the onions and heat briefly to thicken the sauce. If the sauce is too thick, add a little more meat broth. Season the onion sauce with the spices and a little brown sugar, or perhaps some broth powder. It tastes wonderful with dumplings, bratwurst, mashed potatoes, meatballs, etc.
