also Munich Schnitzel – a delicious alternative to Wiener Schnitzel

Pound the schnitzels to your liking. Season with salt, pepper, and a little freshly grated nutmeg. Brush one side of the schnitzel with sweet mustard and the other with horseradish. Then coat the schnitzels in egg, breadcrumbs, and fry in plenty of clarified butter until golden brown on both sides. This completes the Munich schnitzel. But since we want an Old Bavarian schnitzel, place the finished schnitzels in a baking dish, sprinkle with grated cheese, and bake them for 15 minutes in a hot oven at 170°C (top/bottom heat). This schnitzel is a truly delicious alternative to the Wiener schnitzel. Serve with potato salad.
