Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 1 chicken breast
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp paprika powder, hot
- 2 tsp salt
- 4 pretzels, frozen
Instructions
Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes
Cut the chicken breast into 2-3 cm cubes. Mix in a bowl with oil, paprika, and salt and let stand for a while. Thaw the unbaked frozen pretzels, carefully unknot them, and knead the thicker center a little thinner – making sure the dough stays in one piece and doesn’t become too thin. Wrap a strand of dough around each long skewer (preferably metal) – it’s best to start with a knot and place a piece of chicken on the skewer after each loop. At the end, tie the dough again so that it is secure. Brush the remaining seasoned oil over the finished skewers. Grill at a moderate heat. If it gets too hot, the dough will be black on the outside, but sticky on the inside, and the meat will not be cooked through. So grill slowly. Turn it over frequently and carefully at first so the dough doesn’t stick to the grill.
