Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 3 pretzels (possibly from the previous day)
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • 2 tbsp mustard, hot
  • 2 tbsp honey, clear
  • 2 tbsp paprika powder, hot
  • 3 tbsp white wine vinegar
  • 3 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • some olive oil, for steaming

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

small, spicy pretzel pieces

Preheat the oven to 160 degrees Celsius (convection oven). Peel and finely chop the onion and garlic. Sauté them in a large pan with olive oil until translucent. Stir in the paprika, honey, mustard, and vinegar, and season with Worcestershire sauce. Tear or chop the pretzels into small pieces and add them to the pan with the seasoning. Toss the pretzel pieces in the liquid, turning them over, and then spread them out on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Let them dry in the center of the oven for 20 minutes. Then let them cool slightly. They taste best served lukewarm, but are also delicious cold.
