The best salted caramel sauce

Spread the love

  • 200 g sugar
  • 90 g butter
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 120 ml cream

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

simple and delicious

Put the sugar in a small saucepan and melt without stirring until it turns light golden. Then continue stirring briefly while melting. Then add the butter piece by piece. Be careful! It will steam and foam! When all the butter has melted, add the salt. Keep stirring. Then slowly add the cream and simmer for another minute. While still hot, pour it into a medium-sized screw-top jar and let it cool. The sauce will keep for about 2 to 3 weeks in the refrigerator. It can be eaten on bread, warmed up and poured over a New York cheesecake, or eaten on its own.
