Lisa's pizza sauce

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 1 small onion(s), finely chopped
  • 1 garlic clove(s), finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp butter
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 small can of tomatoes, peeled (400 g)
  • 140 g tomato paste
  • ½ lemon(s), juice
  • ½ tsp sweet paprika powder
  • ½ tsp paprika powder, hot
  • ½ tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp oregano, dried
  • salt and pepper
  • chili flakes

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

That’s how I like them best, spicy, sweet, sour

Sauté the finely chopped onion and minced garlic clove in olive oil and butter until translucent. Tear the bay leaf a few times and saute it. Chop the canned tomatoes and add them along with their juice. Add the tomato paste, lemon juice, and all the spices and simmer over low heat until all the liquid has evaporated and only a purée remains. This batch makes enough for 6 round pizzas and can be frozen in portions. Allow the purée to cool before spreading it on the pizza.
