a quick sauce with a kick that is always a hit with us

Season the minced meat with salt and pepper and fry with the finely chopped onions and garlic. Dice the bell peppers and add them, frying for about 3 minutes. Add the pureed tomatoes and season with salt and sambal oelek or cayenne pepper, sugar, and vegetable stock. Let it simmer for a few minutes. Depending on the consistency, add a little water, or thicken with flour and water. Finally, season with a pinch of cinnamon for an extra kick. Serve with pasta of your choice and Parmesan cheese. We make this tomato sauce when you’re in a hurry. It’s easy to adapt depending on what you have in the house. You can leave out the bell peppers or add other vegetables (tomatoes, mushrooms). So far, it’s been a hit even with picky guests.
