Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes
A hearty and inexpensive casserole. A great way to use up leftovers.
Slice the stale bread and place it in a baking dish. Layer the finely sliced tomatoes, thin slices of onion, and bacon on top. In a bowl, combine the sour cream with the finely chopped spring onions (regular onions will work, too), and chives. Season with salt, pepper, and finely chopped dill sprigs, and spread evenly to ensure everything is completely covered. Finally, sprinkle the cheese over the bread and bake in the oven at 175 degrees Celsius for about 30 minutes. The bread will be unrecognizable.
