Instructions
Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes
for 10 Icelandic flatbreads for breakfast, snack or in the evening
Place the dry ingredients in a bowl, pour hot water into the center, and knead into a smooth dough. Roll out with a rolling pin, adding flour, into 10 flatbreads. Stack them on a plate with baking paper between each flatbread. Prepare a bowl of hot water and fry the flatbreads without fat in a pan until small dark spots appear. When a flatbread is done, rinse off any excess flour in the hot water and then pat dry with a paper towel. The flatbreads are somewhat similar to savory pancakes and taste great with peanut butter, jam, or a savory topping. You should allow some time if you want to make a lot of flatbreads, even though the steps themselves don’t take long. 149 kcal per serving.
