Sausage and pasta casserole

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 500 g pasta, of your choice
  • 1 can tomatoes, chopped
  • 100 ml cream
  • 1 pack of small grilled sausages, e.g. Nuremberg
  • 2 shallots or onions
  • 100 g cheese, grated
  • e.g. salt and pepper
  • 1 tsp, heaped paprika powder

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Cook the pasta according to the package instructions. Peel and finely dice the shallots. Cut the sausages into rings. Brown the sausage rings and diced shallots in oil in a large pan. Deglaze with the chopped tomatoes. Reduce the heat. Fill the tomato can a quarter full with water, toss well, and add the liquid to the sauce. Add the cream and season with salt, pepper, and paprika. Simmer gently for about 5 minutes. Transfer the pasta to a baking dish, pour the sauce over it, and sprinkle with the cheese. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 20 minutes. Serve with a mixed salad.
