Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 450 g flour
  • 1 ½ packets of baking powder
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 100 g sugar
  • 250 g low-fat curd cheese
  • 100 ml buttermilk
  • 45 ml oil, neutral
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 egg yolk
  • possibly eggs, hard-boiled, colored
  • optionally almond flakes for sprinkling

Mix the quark, 90 ml buttermilk, the oil, 100 g sugar, vanilla sugar, and a pinch of salt. Mix the flour with 1 1/2 packets of baking powder and knead in portions. Shape the dough into a loaf and place it on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for 15-20 minutes. In the meantime, mix the egg yolk, 1 pinch of salt, and 10 ml buttermilk. After the 20 minutes of baking time, brush the bread with this mixture and bake for another 10-15 minutes at 175°C, uncovering it towards the end if necessary. Tip: Shape the dough into a plaited loaf, top with colored boiled eggs, and continue to process as usual, or sprinkle with flaked almonds after brushing.
