Strawberry jam with nectarines

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1,400 g strawberries
  • 600 g nectarine(s)
  • 1,000 g gelling sugar (2:1)

Instructions

Working time approx. 1 hour; Rest time approx. 12 hours; Total time approx. 13 hours

makes about 6 glasses

Wash and weigh the strawberries and nectarines, then chop them into small pieces as desired. Combine the fruit and preserving sugar in a large pot. The pot should be large enough to hold at least twice the amount. The jam could boil over. Let the mixture rest overnight. This will dissolve the sugar a little. The next day, bring everything to a boil over high heat, stirring continuously, and simmer for at least 5 minutes. Transfer the mixture to the prepared jars, seal, turn upside down, and let stand upside down for about 5 minutes.
