Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 600 g flour
- 4 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1 tbsp baking soda
- 50 g butter
- 120 g almonds, chopped
- 120 g oat flakes
- 300 ml buttermilk
- 1 egg(s)
- 1 tbsp butter, melted, for brushing
Instructions
Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes
Preheat oven to 190°C (top/bottom heat). Combine flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, and baking soda. Knead in the butter. Stir in the almonds and oats, then knead everything with the buttermilk and egg until the dough is smooth. Form the dough into a ball and place it on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Flatten slightly. Brush the loaf with melted butter and sprinkle with sugar. Cut a cross into the loaf with a sharp knife (about 5 cm deep). Bake in the hot oven for about 1 hour, until the bread is nicely browned.
