Fresh homemade tomato sauce

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1 onion(s), finely chopped
  • 1 ½ tbsp olive oil
  • 4 tomatoes (approx. 600 g)
  • 150g crème fraîche
  • 1 pinch(s) of raw cane sugar
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • Salt and pepper from the mill
  • 1 tbsp fresh basil, finely chopped

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Cut out the stems from the tomatoes, make a cross-shaped cut in the opposite side, and place the tomatoes in boiling water for 1/2 minute. Remove with a slotted spoon and refresh in cold water. Peel off the skin with a knife. Cut the tomatoes into 2 cm pieces. Sauté the onions and garlic in a pan with the olive oil. Add the tomatoes and puree everything. Stir in the crème fraîche and brown sugar. Season to taste with basil, sea salt, and pepper.
