Indian apple and raisin chutney

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 350 g apples, pitted and peeled
  • 80 g onion(s), finely diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 200 ml white wine vinegar
  • 170 g sugar
  • 80 g raisins
  • 1 tsp, heaped mustard powder
  • 1 tsp, heaped ginger powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp chili powder

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

sweet, sour and spicy

Cook the diced onions with sugar and white wine vinegar for 2-3 minutes. Cut the apples into medium-sized pieces and add them. Continue cooking until the apples are almost soft. Then mash them with a potato masher until slightly softened. However, small pieces of apple should still remain. Add the raisins, salt, mustard, garlic, ginger powder, and chili powder and simmer for another 2-3 minutes. This recipe yields approximately 800g of chutney.
