Christmas cinnamon red cabbage

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 small red cabbage
  • 2 tbsp oil (sunflower oil)
  • 1 onion(s), red
  • 1 tsp, smothered cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp jam (blackcurrant or wine jelly)
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 bay leaf
  • cloves to taste
  • possibly water or broth
  • possibly cornstarch to bind

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Cut the red cabbage into thin strips. Finely dice the onion and sauté in oil. Add it to the red cabbage and deglaze with a little water. Add the bay leaf and cloves in a spice bag and sauté the red cabbage until soft. If desired, add a little more water or broth and thicken with a little cornstarch. Add cinnamon and jelly to taste and season with salt and pepper.
