Grandma's apple waffles with little sugar

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 275 g apples, sour, grated
  • 3 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 100 g butter, soft
  • 50 g sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 3 eggs
  • 200 g flour
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • 75 g yogurt or sour cream

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 55 minutes

Combine the grated apple, lemon juice, and a tablespoon of sugar and let it sit for a moment. Combine the remaining ingredients to form a smooth batter. The butter should be soft or melted beforehand. Finally, fold in the apple mixture. Bake the batter in a waffle iron. It yields 10 to 12 waffles.
