Apple waffles

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 75 g butter
  • 50 g brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla sugar
  • 1 pinch of cinnamon
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 150 g flour (Type 405, alternatively half wholemeal flour and half Type 405)
  • 75 ml tea (fruit tea, e.g. apple tea from pieces), unsweetened
  • 150 g apple, sour, peeled and coarsely grated
  • possibly powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Beat the butter with sugar and vanilla sugar until fluffy. Add the eggs, cinnamon, and salt and mix in. Stir in the flour, fruit tea, and finally the grated apple. Pour 2 tablespoons of batter into the preheated waffle iron and bake until light brown (my waffle iron has 5 settings—I use the second setting). Dust with powdered sugar, if desired. Tip: For a complete lunch for 4 people, please double the recipe. Variation for pear waffles: Use pear juice instead of the fruit tea and 150g grated pear instead of the apple. Makes 4 to 5 waffles. Delicious as a dessert, for lunch, or even with coffee.
