marinated strawberries with delicious Turkish yogurt cream – light but sophisticated

Wash and hull the strawberries, setting aside four pretty, smaller strawberries. Quarter the rest and place them in a bowl. Add a few dashes of aged balsamic vinegar and a pinch of ground black pepper, gently toss the strawberries together, and marinate for about 2-3 hours. Do not add any sugar at this stage! Split 1/2 a vanilla pod lengthwise, scrape out the seeds with the back of a knife, and place them in a bowl. Add the yogurt and whisk with the limoncello until creamy. Add powdered sugar, if desired. Just before serving, sprinkle a little sugar over the strawberries; depending on their ripeness, you can leave it out. Divide the strawberries among four white wine glasses and fill with the yogurt cream. Place one of the reserved strawberries on top of each, drizzle with balsamic vinegar, and scatter some different colored chocolate pearls.
