Ingredients for 3 servings:
- 6 slice(s) puff pastry, rectangular, frozen
- 3 bell peppers, colored, diced
- 2 small onions, diced
- 125 g smoked bacon, diced
- 3 slices of processed cheese (Chester)
- 1 tbsp oil
- pepper
- Paprika powder
- 1 egg yolk
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes
Thaw the puff pastry. Fry the onions in a little oil. Add the bell peppers and sauté until the liquid has reduced. Finally, add the bacon cubes and fry briefly. Season well with pepper and paprika powder, if desired. Let everything cool for 30 minutes, then spread onto 3 sheets of puff pastry, top each with a slice of processed cheese, and cover with the remaining 3 sheets of puff pastry. Press the edges firmly with a fork and brush the tops with egg yolk. Preheat the oven to 200°C and bake the puff pastry parcels on baking paper for 15-18 minutes. Serve with a cold beer.
