Gyros with cheese and cream sauce

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g pork, gyros or shredded meat
  • 1 cup of cream
  • 500 g pasta, possibly also spaetzle
  • 1 tbsp broth
  • 2 pieces of processed cheese, e.g. Linessa
  • 4 slices of processed cheese
  • 250 ml water
  • 1 tbsp roux
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 2 tsp paprika powder, mild
  • 1 tsp Fondor
  • 2 tsp paprika powder, hot
  • Thyme
  • rosemary
  • oregano
  • 2 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 1 clove(s) garlic

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

If the meat isn’t yet seasoned, drizzle with 2 tablespoons of oil and add the various spices, finely chopped onions, and garlic. Then, fry everything in a preheated pan until crispy, stirring constantly. Then, slowly add the cheese. Wait until it’s completely melted, then add the cream and water to the pan over low heat. Simmer everything until creamy. If the consistency isn’t quite right for you, you can thicken it a bit with a roux. Meanwhile, cook the pasta or spaetzle until tender.
