Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour
a kind of bread dumpling from the oven
First, cut the rolls into small cubes. Then, sauté the onion and parsley in a pan, add the diced bacon and the diced rolls, and lightly toast. Whisk the eggs with the cream and season with nutmeg, salt, and pepper. Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F). Remove everything from the pan, pour into a bowl, and mix with the cream and egg mixture. Do not over-whisk. Form the dumpling dough into long “dumplings” and place them on a greased baking sheet. Bake for about 30 minutes. Brush with butter after baking. These dumplings are a good accompaniment to meat dishes with sauce, such as roast pork, but can also be served with soup.
