Baked zucchini in tomato sauce

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 250 g spicy tomato sauce
  • 2 thick zucchini
  • 3 tbsp cream cheese
  • salt and pepper
  • 4 slices of cooked ham
  • 4 slices of cheese

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

low carb, low fat and still delicious

Pour the tomato sauce (preferably not too runny) into a baking dish and spread it out. Cut the zucchini into slices about 4 cm thick and place them on top of the sauce. Season with salt and pepper and spread with the cream cheese. The salt and pepper will mix with the cream cheese. Now top the zucchini with the ham and cheese. Bake in a hot oven at 170°C (top/bottom heat) for about 30 minutes. Check the zucchini slices every now and then with a fork to see how soft they are; everyone likes them a little differently. The spicier and thicker the tomato sauce, the better the dish. And of course, you can vary how light or high in calories you want it to be by choosing and amount of ham and cheese.
