Tortilla rolls with ham and cream cheese

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 8 tortillas
  • 1 cup herb cream cheese
  • 8 slice(s) ham, cooked
  • 1 jar asparagus

Instructions

Working time approx. 16 minutes; Total time approx. 16 minutes

Spread each tortilla with cream cheese and top with a slice of ham. Large, long slices of ham work best. Place the ham slices on the side where you will later begin rolling. Place two asparagus spears on the outside of the side with the ham slices and carefully roll the tortilla flatbread as tightly as possible around the asparagus. Wrap the rolled tortilla tightly in plastic wrap, like a candy. This works particularly well if you have the pre-cut pieces of plastic wrap ready before rolling. After a few hours in the fridge, the rolls will retain their shape even without plastic wrap. You can eat them as they are or cut into diagonal slices beforehand. It’s especially nice to serve them bite-sized with small skewers. This is easy to do if you insert the skewers into the roll before cutting. If you pierce the skewers so that both ends of the starch are pierced, nothing can fall out later. They can easily be prepared the day before. The flavor can be varied with different types of cream cheese and ham. If you don’t like asparagus, you can also roll it up with pickled gherkins.
