Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 20 king prawns, with head and tail (no freshwater prawns)
- 3 garlic cloves
- ¼ bunch oregano
- ¼ bunch basil
- 5 tbsp olive oil
- 3 tsp vinegar (red wine vinegar)
- Cayenne pepper
- salt and pepper
Instructions
Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes
as a starter or main course
Wash the shrimp and pat dry. Crush the garlic. Finely chop the herbs. Mix with the oil and red wine vinegar. Season generously with salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper. Place the shrimp in the marinade and let it sit for 1-2 hours. Drain and grill for about 8 minutes (or, during grilling season, on a charcoal grill, using an aluminum tray if desired). Turn over and brush with the marinade. Serve with baguette and salad.
