Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 fish(s) (green herring), fried
  • ¼ liter vinegar
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 3 onions
  • 6 peppercorns
  • 1 pinch(s) of sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 1 hour; Rest period approx. 3 days; Total time approx. 3 days 1 hour

Pour the vinegar over the fried green herring and sprinkle with the spices. Slice the onions into rings and arrange them on top. Let them marinate in a sealed container (plastic container or lidded pot) in the refrigerator for several days. The optimal time depends on the weight of the herring and your personal taste. You’ll develop a feel for it over time. Until then, just taste it after 2-3 days. The herring will keep for a few days in the refrigerator. A delicious dinner with fried potatoes.
