Onion noodles my grandmother's way

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 300 g pasta (wave spaetzle, e.g. from Tress)
  • 3 onions
  • 150 g bacon cubes
  • 1 cup of cream, approx. 200 g
  • 100 g processed cheese
  • some pepper
  • 1 tsp, heaped vegetable stock powder
  • some oil for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

simple, hearty and quick

Quarter the onions and slice them into thin strips. Cook the pasta according to the package instructions. While the pasta is cooking, sauté the onions in a large pan with a little oil. When the onions are translucent, add the bacon and fry briefly. Deglaze the bacon and onion mixture with the cream and stir in the cheese spread until a smooth sauce forms. Season the sauce with a little pepper and the vegetable stock. Once the pasta is ready, drain it and stir it into the sauce.
