Spiral potatoes with Bratwurst special à la Didi

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 3 sausages, fresh
  • 500 g potatoes
  • 2 tbsp seasoning salt for French fries
  • 1 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 4 tbsp sunflower oil
  • e.g. tomato ketchup
  • e.g. mayonnaise
  • n. B. Remoulade

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Mix the oil with the French fries seasoning salt. Peel the potatoes, place them in water, dry them, and cut them into spirals using a spiral cutter. Thread the spirals onto shish kebab skewers or tie them into a crown with kitchen string. Brush the potato spirals with the oil and seasoning salt mixture and place them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper along with the sausages. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake the spirals at 180°C (convection oven) for about 15 minutes. In the meantime, peel the onion, cut it into half rings, dust it with flour, and fry it in a pan with a little fat until golden brown. Remove the fried onions from the pan and keep warm with the spirals. Remove the sausages from the baking sheet, add them to the pan, and finish frying. Serve with tomato ketchup, mayonnaise, or remoulade on the sausages, spirals, and onions.
