homemade blackcurrant cocktail

The blackcurrant berries are sorted and briefly washed to remove any plant residue. The berries are then placed in two sealable glass bottles, along with the remaining ingredients. If the bottles aren’t full, you can top up the rest with berries or schnapps. The bottles are stored in a warm, bright place (e.g., on a south-facing windowsill) for at least eight months to a year; regular shaking isn’t necessary. After this time, the schnapps is strained through a coffee filter, which does take a while. After filtering and tasting, you shouldn’t overdo it that day. The sugar is also a guideline; you can easily use more or less.
