Ingredients for 2 servings:
- 300 g turkey breast fillet(s)
- 2 garlic cloves
- 25 ml olive oil
- 25 ml soy sauce
- salt and pepper
- some sweet paprika powder
- possibly chili powder
- 1 m.-sized onion(s)
- 150 g mushrooms, fresh
- possibly spice mix (grill spice)
- 200 ml cream (soy cream)
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 2 hours; Total time approx. 2 hours 20 minutes
Finely chop the garlic cloves and mix with soy sauce and olive oil. Season with salt, pepper, paprika, and perhaps a little chili powder. Be careful, though, as it will be quite intense (the soy sauce is already salty). I sometimes use barbecue seasoning instead of the individual ingredients. Shred the turkey breast fillet and marinate in the sauce, ideally overnight; the longer you marinate, the more intense the flavor will be, but at least 2 hours. Sauté the onions in a little oil. When they are between translucent and light brown, add the meat and the marinade. After about 5 minutes, add the cleaned mushrooms and simmer everything together over low heat. Just before serving, add the soy cream and season to taste. You don’t usually need to add any more seasoning, as the marinade already gives the meat a great flavor. Goes well with tagliatelle, rice, or fresh baguette or ciabatta. Marinated meat also tastes great grilled on a raclette grill. I always use soy cream (lactose intolerant) – it works wonderfully. I haven’t made the recipe with regular cream yet, but it should work the same in principle.
