Kasseler in malt beer sauce

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 kg Kasseler neck roast
  • 3 onions
  • 1 tbsp clove powder
  • 1 liter malt beer
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • cornstarch
  • pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Add 2-3 tablespoons of water to a roasting pan. Dice the onions. Rub the meat with clove powder (use carefully, according to taste) and season with pepper. Heat the roasting pan with the water, add the onions and sugar, and sauté the onions lightly. Add the seasoned meat and cook covered. After about 30 minutes, add the malt beer. Then simmer for another 1-1.5 hours, until the meat is tender. Thicken the sauce slightly with cornstarch and season to taste. Serve with hash browns and a nice salad.
