Baked flatbread

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 bread(s), (flatbread), approx. 500 g
  • 100 g butter
  • 1 pack of mixed herbs, frozen
  • some salt and pepper
  • 1 garlic clove(s), finely chopped
  • 1 onion(s), finely chopped
  • 400 g cheese (Limburger)
  • 10 m.-sized tomatoes
  • 200 g ham (salmon ham), sliced
  • ½ bunch parsley, finely chopped
  • some black pepper, freshly ground
  • some oil, for drizzling

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Cut the flatbread in half crosswise. Combine the butter with the herbs, onion, and garlic, and season with salt and pepper. Spread this mixture on both halves of the bread. Slice the tomatoes and cheese, and halve large slices of smoked ham if desired. Layer the flatbread halves with these slices, alternating and overlapping. Sprinkle with freshly ground pepper. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for about 10-15 minutes, until the cheese is golden brown.
