Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 50 ml orange juice
  • ½ orange(s), zest
  • 125 g powdered sugar
  • 60 g butter
  • 30 g flour
  • 60 g sesame seeds

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

small crispy hips or baskets as a complement to dessert

Mix together the orange juice and orange zest, sift over the icing sugar and mix everything together. Stir in the melted, cooled butter, then stir in the flour and sesame seeds. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Line a baking tray with baking paper and drop tablespoonfuls of the mixture onto the baking tray. Be careful, the mixture spreads quite a bit, so leave enough space between them. I use 1 tablespoon of the mixture per basket or hip. Bake for about 5-6 minutes. They are ready when golden brown. Remove from the oven. As soon as the mixture has cooled slightly, remove it from the baking tray with a spatula and either lay it flat on baking paper to cool, or place it over a cup or small dish while it is still warm and carefully shape it into a basket. Allow to cool. The mixture cools quickly and can then no longer be shaped. This recipe makes about 15 baskets. The baskets or hips stay crispy in a tightly sealed container.
