Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 8 chili pepper(s), dried
  • ½ liter olive oil, virgin or corn germ oil
  • 2 tbsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 vanilla pod(s)

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 12 hours; Total time approx. 12 hours 20 minutes

Finely chop the chili peppers, halved lengthwise, and add them to a saucepan with the oil. Heat gently for 10 minutes. Remove the pan from the heat and let cool. Add the cayenne pepper and vanilla pod. Cover and let stand for 1 day. Strain the oil and pour it into a sterile container. It tastes delicious on toasted baguette and is also great for searing beef, shrimp, and lamb.
