Game of Thrones Cocktail "Valar Dohaeris"

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 125 ml water
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 125 g sugar (syrup sugar)
  • 8 cl whole milk
  • 4 cl rum
  • 2 cl Cointreau
  • 4 ice cubes

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

with homemade cinnamon syrup

First, prepare the cinnamon syrup. To do this, boil the water in a pot and then add the cinnamon sticks and sugar. Let it boil until it reaches a syrupy consistency. Then pour the syrup into a bottle and let it cool. Tip: To make the syrup last longer, you can add a little vodka. But only after the syrup has cooled, otherwise the vodka will evaporate immediately. You can also add the cinnamon sticks to the bottle to intensify the flavor. Now, add half the ice cubes, 4 parts milk, 2 parts rum, 1 part Cointreau, and 1 part cinnamon syrup to a cocktail shaker and shake for 20-30 seconds. Note: The “Valar Dohaeris” is said to capture the scents of the port city of Braavos and, with its soft, delicate flavor, is intended to serve as a counterpoint to its brother, the “Valar Morghulis.” The cinnamon flavor is inspired by the ship Cinnamon Wind, which is supposed to take Sam and Goldy from Braavos to Oldtown.
