Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 400 g flour
  • 140 g butter
  • 120 g powdered sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • ½ pack of baking powder
  • some lemon peel
  • Jam (apricot or strawberry)

Instructions

Working time approx. 1 hour; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 2 hours

(from Grandma’s cookbook), makes about 50 pieces

Mix the flour with the baking powder and sift it onto a baking board, along with the sugar. Then add the cubed butter, eggs, milk, and lemon zest. Quickly knead everything into a dough, then chill for about 1 hour. Roll out the dough, cut out round biscuits, and then make the same number again, but with three holes. Place on a baking sheet and bake at 170°C (350°F) for about 8 minutes until light golden. Once cooled, spread the full biscuit with jam, place the biscuit with the holes on top, and sprinkle lightly with sugar.
