Ham – onion – sauce

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 onion(s), peeled and diced
  • 1 pc. cooked ham, finely diced
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 500 ml milk, approx.
  • ½ pack of cream cheese spread
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp balsamic vinegar bianco
  • 1 tsp sugar

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

goes well with any kind of pasta, but also tastes good with pancakes…

Melt the butter in a saucepan. Sauté the diced onions until translucent. Add the ham cubes and heat, stirring until the cubes have separated. Sprinkle the flour over the sauce and stir until no loose flour remains. Deglaze with the milk and stir well. The exact amount of milk depends on the size of the flour spoon. So add a little first, stir, and gradually add milk until the sauce reaches the desired consistency. Add the cream cheese and the seasonings. The sauce will thicken somewhat after a while, so you may want to thin it out with more milk later. Tastes great with tortellini, but also really delicious with pancakes!
