Tuna pasta

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 250 g pasta (penne)
  • 1 can tuna, in oil
  • 1 can of tomatoes, peeled, or fresh tomatoes
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • some cinnamon powder
  • 1 bunch basil, fresh
  • 1 tbsp oregano, dried
  • some olive oil
  • some Parmesan
  • some salt
  • some pepper
  • some sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

penne al tonno

Peel and dice the onion, then sauté it in a deep pot with the sugar and a little olive oil. Cook the pasta in plenty of salted water. Meanwhile, add the chopped garlic, tomatoes, chopped basil, and oregano to the onions and simmer over low heat, stirring occasionally until the sauce thickens. Finally, add the tuna with some of the oil and a pinch of cinnamon and cook for another 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Mix the sauce with the pasta and serve sprinkled with Parmesan cheese.
