Low-fat meatballs from the oven

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g minced meat
  • 1 m.-sized roll
  • Water, cold for soaking
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp herbs (8-herb mix), frozen
  • e.g. cayenne pepper
  • n. B. cumin powder
  • 1 small onion(s)
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • 1 tsp paprika powder

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

Line a baking tray with baking paper and preheat the oven to 220°C fan/convection oven. Finely dice the onion and garlic, fry in a little oil, and add to a mixing bowl. Soak the bread roll in water, squeeze out any excess water, and add to the mixing bowl. Now add the remaining ingredients and knead everything until smooth. With wet hands, form small meatballs and place them on the baking tray. Place the tray on the middle rack of the oven for about 30 minutes. After baking, immediately remove the meatballs from the tray and place them on a plate lined with kitchen paper. We like to eat the meatballs as finger food or in stews, soups, or sauces.
