Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 250 g butter, melted
  • 500 g flour
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 ½ liters of water
  • 300 g rock candy (e.g.: Kluntje)
  • e.g. star anise, crushed in a mortar
  • e.g. cardamom, crushed in a mortar
  • 1 shot of rum (no rum for children)

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Rest time approx. 3 hours; Total time approx. 3 hours 25 minutes

makes 35 waffle cones

Dissolve the rock candy in hot water and let it cool. Mix the sweet rock candy water, butter, eggs, and flour into a dough. Add cardamom, star anise, and rum to taste. Let the dough rest for an hour. Then bake in a waffle cone machine. Quickly wrap it around the cone and slightly press or fold the top over. Delicious with ice cream, whipped cream, or even on its own.
