Colorful rolls for breakfast or brunch
Makes 6 bagels: In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Gradually add vegetable oil and warm water. Knead until a smooth dough forms. Let rest for 20-30 minutes. On a floured surface, divide the dough into 6 equal pieces and place each in a bowl. Add a little food coloring to each piece and knead to create 6 different colored doughs. Stretch each piece of dough out and string the resulting rolls together. Twist them together. Divide the large roll into 6 equal pieces and then twist each one into a bagel. Place in boiling water for 30 seconds. Then place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Bake at 230°C for 15 minutes. Cut in half, spread with cream cheese, and enjoy.
