Grapefruit drink

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 large grapefruit(s), pink
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • Water

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

warm or cold

Halve the grapefruit and pour the juice through a sieve into a tall container. Make sure the container is hot enough to handle the juice; squeeze it out. You can also use a citrus press, but most are too small for a large grapefruit. Add the sugar and lime juice. Bring the water to a boil in a kettle and add some of the hot water to the grapefruit juice, lime juice, and sugar. Stir with a spoon or wooden spoon until the sugar has dissolved, then add the remaining water. If you want to drink the drink hot or warm, it’s ready now; otherwise, let it cool down a bit. If you want to drink it cold, let it cool to room temperature and then put it in the fridge until cold. I use a carafe that holds 1.5 liters of liquid and boil enough water so that the end result, including the grapefruit mixture, is 1.5 liters. So you’ll have to estimate how much water you need. But the less water you use, the stronger the taste.
